About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven National Sales Manager to lead and expand a growing Medical Surgical business across South Africa. This is a strategic leadership role where you will shape the national sales direction, drive revenue growth, and build a high-performing team within a dynamic healthcare environment.
You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient outcomes and support healthcare professionals nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with business objectives
- Lead, coach, and manage a high-performing sales team across multiple regions
- Drive revenue growth by achieving and exceeding sales targets and market share goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, procurement leaders, distributors, and regulatory bodies
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other internal teams to ensure effective market execution
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and ethical sales practices
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to refine strategy
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
- Represent the business at industry events and conferences
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- 7–10 years’ experience in MedTech, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare industries
- 8–12+ years’ experience in medical devices, diagnostics, or related sectors
- 5–7 years in a national or senior sales leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding national sales targets
- Experience in field sales, including territory and key account management
- Strong understanding of both public and private healthcare sectors in South Africa

- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SAHPRA, SAMED, POPIA)
- Commercial acumen with experience in budgeting and forecasting

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare environment
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the Fourways office
- Up to 30% travel (national and occasional international)
- Company vehicle provided (subject to driving record checks)
