About the position

The purpose of this role is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. As a National Sales Manager, you'll identify new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Promote Vericon outsourcing services in the warehousing space. A National Sales Manager leads and oversees a company's sales efforts across a country, developing and implementing strategies to achieve sales targets and build a high-performing sales team.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies, plans, and tactics to achieve national sales goals and objectives.

Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a sales team (including regional sales managers) to achieve targets, fostering a positive and high-performing sales culture.

Sales Performance Analysis:

  • Track and analyze sales performance data, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve results.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities, understand customer needs, and adapt sales strategies accordingly.

Sales Forecasting and Budgeting:

  • Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and quotas, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies.

Negotiation and Closing:

  • Negotiate and close deals with key clients, ensuring profitable outcomes.

Training and Development:

  • Provide ongoing training and development to the sales team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, provide insights to management, and communicate effectively with the sales team.

Qualifications and experience

  • BA in business administration, sales or relevant field
  • Proven working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role
  • Proven sales track record
  • Experience in customer support
  • Experience in functional outsourcing would be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of BCEA and LRA
