Division: WHC Academic Advance
 
Main purpose of the job:

  • We are looking for a Consultant for a period of 10 weeks
  • The appointment is required to strengthen Moodle LMS administration, improve system configuration, support course implementation, enhance reporting capability and ensure that the current and upcoming eLearning deliverables are implemented efficiently and consistently
  • Provide technical and administrative support across the Academic Advance Moodle environment

Scope of Work :

  • Review current Moodle sites, courses and configurations to identify gaps, risks and improvement priorities
  • Configure courses, activities, assessments, acknowledgements, completion rules and certificates according to agreed requirements
  • Support User management, including account creation, enrolments, groups, roles and access permissions
  • Upload and organise learning material, SOPs, policies, protocols, resources, videos and assessments in a structured and User-friendly way
  • Develop and standardise Moodle course templates, naming conventions, reporting formats and administrative workflows
  • Generate and validate Learner reports, including activity completion, course completion, logs, last access, completion dates and assessment outcomes
  • Troubleshoot Learner and Administrator queries related to access, course progress, completion settings and certificates
  • Support quality checks before course launch, including testing Learner navigation, completion tracking, certificate generation and report outputs
  • Document repeatable processes and provide handover notes, quick guides or training to the Academic Advance team

 Required minimum education and training:

  • NQF Level 7 qualification or equivalent in Information Technology, Education Technology, Instructional Design, Learning and Development, or a related field
  • Relevant Moodle administration training or certification will be advantageous
  • Training or practical knowledge in eLearning platforms, digital learning systems, learner management systems, or online course administration

Required minimum work experience:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in administering Moodle or a similar Learner Management System/Learning Management System
  • Experience in course setup, User enrolment, role allocation, completion tracking, assessment configuration and certificate generation
  • Experience in uploading and organising learning content, policies, SOPs, videos, assessments and Learner resources on an online learning platform
  • Experience in generating, checking and interpreting Learner activity and completion reports
  • Experience in providing basic user support and troubleshooting Learner or Administrator queries related to LMS access, navigation and course completion

Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:

  • Ability to reduce operational pressure on the existing Academic Advance training team
  • Ability to improve Moodle system readiness and course quality
  • Ability to assist in faster implementation of new and updated eLearning courses, and more accurate and consistent Learner completion records
  • Assist with reporting for internal Stakeholders, projects and audit purposes
  • Offer clearer Moodle processes, templates and handover documentation
  • Assist with Learner experience through better navigation, clearer course structures and timely support
