Job Title: Mine Planning Manager
Location: Northern Cape, South Africa
Hire Resolve's Client are currently seeking a Mine Planning Manager to join their mining operation in the Northern Cape region of South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mine planning process and ensuring efficient and effective extraction of mineral resources.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term mine plans to optimize production and minimize costs
- Coordinate with geologists, mining engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate resource estimates and mine designs
- Monitor and evaluate mining progress to identify potential bottlenecks and make necessary adjustments to meet production targets
- Develop short-term mine plans to guide daily operations and maximize productivity
- Implement best practices for mine planning and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manage a team of mine planners and provide guidance and support as needed
- Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and forecasts for the mining operation
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve mine planning processes and optimize production efficiency
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and operations in the mining industry
- Proficiency in mine planning software such as Surpac, Datamine, or Vulcan
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the mining industry
