About the position

Description/Synopsis:

Our Client, specialists within the coal mining sector, is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mine Manager to manage and oversee all aspects of mining operations in Witbank / Middelburg. The ideal candidate will be accountable for ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant production processes while optimizing resources and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
  • Valid Blasting Certificate.
  • Relevant Mining Qualification / Degree / Diploma.
  • At least 7 years of coal mining production experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Valid EB (or equivalent) driver’s license.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead operational management of mining processes to meet production goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) standards and all legal requirements, including those stipulated under Legal Appointment responsibilities.
  • Manage budgets, costs, and resource allocation efficiently.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all operational areas.
  • Provide effective leadership, employee management, and enforce discipline within the team.
  • Oversee accurate and timely reporting and administration.
  • Enforce adherence to maintenance schedules and programs.
  • Monitor and manage contractor performance according to company standards.
