About the position
Hire Resolve’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of South African Millwright Technicians to work in Meppel, Netherlands. Please note that visa and sponsorship assistance provided. The successful candidates will be responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance of production installations, primarily within a designated area of responsibility. Key unit operations within the production process include: granulation (mixing installations), tableting, encapsulation, coating, and packaging (blister, printing, and packing machines).
Responsibilities:
- To perform preventive maintenance and address breakdowns in production installations involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic components, or to implement technical improvements, in order to maximize technical availability.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks (inspections, fixing defects where immediately possible).
- Supervise and coordinate preventive maintenance by contractors, in consultation with the supervisor.
- Request work permits, conduct work meetings before and after maintenance.
- Deactivate, isolate, lock out, tag, test, and release equipment for maintenance (LOTOTO).
- Escalate issues, including deviations from the maintenance schedule.
- Resolve breakdowns based on received notifications/work orders.
- Locate faults and root causes, disassemble, measure/test components.
- Assess severity and determine necessity/possibility of immediate repair.
- Perform major repairs as scheduled, sometimes with internal/external specialists.
- Report recurring issues to supervisor/reliability engineering.
- Assist in modification and new-build projects; participate in commissioning.
- Assess technical documentation from a maintenance perspective.
- Advise or contribute to optimizations and major projects based on maintenance knowledge.
- Close work orders, log hours/materials/issues, and register tasks in the system.
- Create follow-up work orders if needed.
- Document changes to drawings, diagrams, and instructions.
- Manage stock requests and propose procedural improvements.
- Inspect and maintain departmental tools and instruments.
- Report deviations or replacement needs.
- Propose stock expansions or tool upgrades.
- Comply with HSE and company procedures.
- Report deviations and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
Requirements:
- Matric / NQF 4
- South African Drivers’ License
- Fluent in Afrikaans
- Millwright Trade Test or Instrumentation Technician Trade Test
- Education: MBO/MBO4 in Electrical, or Mechatronics.
- Experience: Several disciplines and at least one domain, 3 years as Technician B.
- Training: GMP, VCA-vol, NEN3140 VP.
- Languages: Besides Dutch, German and/or English is desired.
