Millwright - Red Seal

About the position

Our client is looking for a Millwright to join their team in Bronkhorstspruit. The successful candidate will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and mechanical systems at a processing facility that produces soybean meal, crude oil, and hulls. The Millwright will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime, supporting the smooth operation of the plant.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine inspections and perform both planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
  
  
• Fault finding, root cause analysis, and repairs.
  
  
• Maintain logs and job card feedback for labour, materials, and equipment.
  
  
• Interact positively with maintenance staff, operators, and supervisors.
  
  
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance foreman regarding issues and solutions.
  
  
• Uphold good housekeeping practices and proper use of tools.
  
  
• Examine drawings/specifications to determine job, material, and equipment requirements.
  
  
• Replace defective machine parts, adjust alignment, and dismantle/repair faulty tools and assemblies.
  
  
• Install and align machinery such as motors, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  
  
• Ensure quality and accuracy of all completed work.
  
  
• Be available for overtime, standby, and call-outs as needed.
  
  
• Follow health and safety regulations, ensuring safe handling of tools and machinery.
  
  
• Report any unlawful activity and follow all lawful instructions as part of a team-oriented environment.
  
  

Requirements:

• Red Seal Certification
  
  
• Minimum Grade 12
  
  
• At least 3 years of experience in the trade
  
  
• Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  
  
• Organized and detail-oriented
  
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  
  
• Good communication and teamwork skills
  
  
• Willingness to work in a noisy, dusty, hot/cold environment, including confined spaces or at heights
