About the position

Our client, a leading mining company is looking to appoint a Millwright to join their team based in Guinea West Africa for a 1-year renewable contract.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a Millwright Trade
  • Must have previous expat experience.
  • Experience in Iron ore mining an added advantage
  • Must have extensive knowledge of TEREX Mobile Crushing Machinery, both mechanical and electrical systems and expected to know how to operate the machine/s.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and fixed plant equipment.
  • Precision Tools: Proficiency in drilling machines and precision measuring tools.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Ability to disassemble, repair, and maintain machinery based on technical manuals.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting capabilities to identify faults in machinery.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures, risk assessment, and PPE.
  • Reading Technical Drawings: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills.

Duties will include, but is not limited to:

  • Assembly and installation of mining equipment including but not limited to Excavators, Loaders, mobile processing plants etc.
  • Responsible for training and overseeing crusher adjustments of closed and open side settings for the crushed material
  • Working in full compliance with the approved Health and safety regulations, company Safety procedures as well as client's safety requirements
  • Adhere to strict safety guidelines and cognize with safety risk management.
  • Participate in internal and external safety audits
  • Managing the layout and operation of equipment and machinery in factory settings or according to OEM standards.
  • Creation of SOPs relevant to work procedures
  • Adhere to individual set KPIs and always ensure machine technical availability.
  • Effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints and ensure minimum down time of machinery.
  • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making repairs or installing new parts.
  • Dismantling and rebuilding machinery and equipment.
  • Take part and overseeing preventative maintenance by identifying, correcting potential issues, removing and replacing worn out components, greasing and lubricating mechanical parts including post maintenance inspection.
  • Other Artisan duties as delegated by superiors.
