About the position
Is this you? You enjoy solving complex electrical and mechanical faults rather than simply replacing parts. Calm under pressure, practical and self-motivated, you take ownership of equipment, work independently and pride yourself on high-quality workmanship. Continuous improvement, reliability and safety come naturally to you. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Your days will involve fault finding, repairing and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment, responding to production breakdowns and carrying out preventative maintenance across a busy industrial plant. You'll diagnose root causes, improve equipment reliability, support shutdowns and identify opportunities to increase plant availability while reducing repeat failures. You'll enjoy this role because your expertise will directly improve production performance, giving you the freedom to solve real engineering challenges instead of applying temporary fixes. Where you'll be doing it Join a well-established South African manufacturer with a reputation for quality, innovation and long-term investment in its people. Operating in a modern, high-volume production environment, the business encourages ownership, technical excellence and continuous improvement while providing ongoing training and career development. What you'll need A Millwright Trade Test with 3+ years experience post trade test, industrial maintenance experience. Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, experience with motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, VSDs, MCCs and automated production equipment are essential. PLC fault finding, reading technical drawings and working independently in a heavy manufacturing environment will set you apart. What you'll get A permanent opportunity with a market related salary including basic, provident fund company contribution, life and disability cover, technical training, rotational standby and the opportunity to build your career with a respected manufacturing business plus a 13th cheque depending on performance.
