About the position

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Millwright to execute electrical and mechanical inspections, repairs, and maintenance of engineering equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering and Maintenance Control (65%)

• Diagnose root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Minimise equipment downtime by performing repairs promptly.
• Ensure optimal operation of equipment through proper engineering practices and adherence to manufacturing process standards.
• Support production by identifying potential issues proactively and resolving process-related problems.
• Conduct routine and "first-off" inspections for all process changes and maintain equipment performance records.
• Coordinate parts availability for preventative maintenance routines.

Compliance (15%)

• Operate in line with internal controls and procedures to maintain integrity.
• Report risks or areas of concern to management.
• Promote compliance with relevant regulations to prevent wasteful or irregular expenditure.

Cost Control (10%)

• Support the efficient and transparent use of financial and operational resources.
• Monitor costs and expenditures, reporting deviations from budget limits.

Customer Service (10%)

• Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and internal customers.
• Identify and solve problems with integrity and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate (NQF 4)
• Trade Test: Millwright (NQF 5)
• Up to 3 years' experience in technical, electrical, and mechanical maintenance as a Millwright in a manufacturing environment

Technical Competencies:

• Basic computer literacy (MS Office; SAP, ERP systems, or other job-specific software)
• Knowledge of maintenance practices, designs, methodologies, and SOPs
• Understanding of housekeeping and safety principles
