About the position

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Metrologist to join the Uitenhage team, 

• Laboratory Management: Supervise daily laboratory activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. Oversee maintenance, quality control, and validation of laboratory instruments and procedures.
  
• Follow up on any outstanding customer issues,
  
• Read drawings and designing of fixtures
  
• Quality Assurance: Implement and manage quality control systems to ensure continuous production of products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Conduct process audits to verify accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  
• Team Leadership: Provide clinical and administrative oversight to laboratory personnel, including mentoring, training, and performance evaluations. Establish training goals for new hires and ensure timely completion of departmental reviews.
  

Requirements·         Grade 12


·         Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.


·         Minimum 5 years experience metrology lab management the automotive industry.


·         Injection moulding experience preferred,


·         Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plan preparation.


·         Project experience,


·         Quality Planning, MSA, Dimensional Analysis, and Capability Studies experience


·         Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Root Cause Analysis.


·         Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and data analysis programs


·         Ability to read drawings,


·         Tooling background will be an advantage


·         Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
