Merchandiser
Area: Pinetown, KZN
Package: R14000 p/m plus medical aid, pension fund
Purpose of position: Responsible for product appearance on and off shelf and ensuring maximum space for product lines in various stores throughout his/her geographic area by closely working with rep/manager and the customer, ensure that the promotion of products will increase sales.

Store Visits:
- Call on every store as per call cycle
- Communicate to Rep / Manager if you don't get to a store.
- Missed calls need to be caught up in the week and or a Friday
- Action weekly list of duties received from Reps.
- Call on stores that need merchandising/displays but might not be on call cycle.
Merchandising:
- Ensure stock is merchandised as requested by customer/rep/ Bostik standards/Merchandiser check list.
- Build exciting display to maximise sales. a photo to be submitted
- Refresh old displays
- Ensure all elements on merchandiser checklist are actioned
- Understand the benefits of off-shelf displays.
- Ensure stock rotation and check for dated stock
- Utilize space with the objective to increase turnover for a customer.
- Ensure stock is merchandised at eye level & increase facings.
- Ensure stock is clean & neat.
- Assist with merchandising at large retail customers, store openings and specials.
- Ensure stock rotation is implemented, and customers are made aware of stock rotation
- Ensure all the region is always up to date with all POS and marketing material.
- Regular checks with the Marketing Team
Planograms/Block merchandising
- Implement standard planogram where possible
- Take before and after pics when doing a relay in store
P.O.S:
- Ensure optimal use of all POS.
- Conduct store walks every time when attending to stores.
- Replace damaged POS.
- Take down any old competition communication & ensure new competition communication Is well positioned
- Cross merchandise at till points and on sales counters.
Competitor
- Report on any competitor activity
- Submit phots of any new competitor lines/POS
Admin and Feedback:
- Submit monthly feedback report on the day of meeting.
- Submit signed demo and training forms via Skynamo
- Conduct surveys as requested
- Update call reports as needed
Attend to Distribution:
- Assist with delivering stock to customers, when required.
- Ensure stock is delivered on or before due date.
Contact Store manager/HOD/Floor Manager
- Develop relationships with store manager
- Maintain a courteous and polite persona by always greeting first and reporting to the person in charge.
- Investigate and provide further assistance If required
- Negotiate off shelf space with HOD/ Sales manager/floor manager
Service existing & new customers:
- Ensure customer contact details are kept up to date on Skynamo.
- Ensure storeroom - customer/office is neat and tidy.
- Conduct monthly stocktake of POS.
- Arrange orders for POS.
- Ensure all customers sign receipt of all stands.
- Implement list of action points from sales rep
Demos Weekend Activity:
- Arrange demos monthly.
- Submit forms monthly.
- Ensure gazebo Is used If allowed
- Make use of POS to make the demo vibrant
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Ensure vehicle is regularly serviced, maintained, always kept clean & neat.
Essential Technical Competencies:
- Matric certificate / Tertiary Diploma, qualification advantageous.
- At least 4- 6 years' experience as a Merchandiser.
- Code 08 driver's license.
- Computer Literate
Essential Personal Competencies:
- Knowledge of hardware sales trends.
- Good communication skills.
- Customer service orientated.
- Must be able to work on certain weekends and after hours
