An incredible opportunity exists for a Merchandiser in the Durban region where you are not just a supplier but an enabler of creativity and efficiency in the clothing industry helping retailers and designers turn their visions into reality.
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with buyers/retailers on seasonal ranges.
• Build and nurture relationships with retail buyers and decision-makers. Understand their business models, target audience, and preferences.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely delivery of materials while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor market trends and innovations to suggest novel fabrics that align with design visions and sustainability goals.
• Analyze inventory levels and demand forecasts to optimize stock and reduce wastage.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers, working together to ensure a smooth supply process.

Qualifications:

• Tertiary Education in Fashion Merchandising, Textiles or a related field preferred
• Min 3-5 years’ experience in merchandising within the clothing industry.
• Familiarity with fabrics, their properties, and production processes.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Remuneration:
R15 000 - R30 000 Cost to Company Dependent on experience
