About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced MEPF Co-ordinator to join their Cape Town team on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for a technically capable professional with a strong Mechanical or Electrical background and proven experience coordinating building services across construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the implementation of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire systems across building projects
- Liaise effectively with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients
- Review and coordinate technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Identify and resolve technical coordination issues relating to MEPF systems
- Monitor project progress and assist with programme and budget requirements
- Coordinate multiple MEPF activities and ensure deadlines are achieved
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the construction process
- Ensure work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, standards, and project requirements
- Report to the MEPF Manager and Construction Manager
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification within the built environment will be advantageous
- 3-5 years' experience in MEPF coordination, particularly within Mechanical and Electrical systems
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building services, and coordination requirements
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and Electrical standards
- Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, Revit, or other MEPF design software
- Experience with project scheduling, progress monitoring, and coordinating multiple activities
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with the ability to review drawings and technical documentation accurately
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to continuously develop technical knowledge and adapt to evolving industry requirements
- Physically fit and comfortable working within a construction environment
