About the position

Our client, a reputable and fast-paced medical practice based in the Springs/Benoni area, is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a 3-month temporary contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable and skilled professional to join a dynamic healthcare team and support the smooth and efficient operation of the front office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and registering patients professionally
  • Managing appointment schedules and patient files
  • Handling incoming calls and general enquiries
  • Capturing patient data with a high degree of accuracy
  • Billing duties are not required - billing is handled offsite
  • Must be able to handle billing enquiries and refer patients to billing department
  • Liaising with medical aids for authorisations, registrations, and benefit queries
  • Coordinating with healthcare professionals and support staff
  • Maintaining a clean, professional, and efficient front desk area
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities of the practice

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar medical reception role
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Exposure to medical billing systems or practice management software (e.g., MedEDI, Elixir)
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new processes and systems
  • BIlingual - English + Zulu / Afrikaans
