About the position
Leading medical device company is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team in the Western Cape. Experience with infusion therapy equipment, dialysis equipment, or similar biomedical devices.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in the Western Cape. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and technical support of a range of AIS medical devices, ensuring optimal equipment performance, patient safety, and exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Installing, repairing, disinfecting, testing, and evaluating AIS medical equipment at customer sites.
Performing preventative maintenance, software installations, and electrical safety testing in accordance with service documentation and Centre of Excellence (CoE) standards.
Diagnosing equipment faults and implementing corrective actions to ensure operational reliability.
Maintaining accurate records of installations, inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment failures.
Providing technical support, guidance, and training to customers and internal stakeholders on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Reviewing preventative maintenance outcomes and recommending improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Scheduling and coordinating service activities according to the service matrix.
Attending customer callouts and providing timely technical support.
Managing and coordinating the availability of back-up equipment and stock.
Preparing and submitting monthly service reports detailing repairs, preventative maintenance activities, commissioning, and on-site installations.
Ensuring compliance with all quality, safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Assist with additional duties and projects as reasonably required by management
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
National Diploma or B.Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 2 years' experience within the medical equipment or biomedical industry.
Experience with infusion therapy equipment, dialysis equipment, or similar biomedical devices will be advantageous.
Sound knowledge of electronic equipment, technical systems, and equipment operation.
Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology as applied to the use of biomedical equipment.
Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical equipment.
Registration with CEASA will be advantageous

Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including:
Lifting, pushing, pulling, and manoeuvring equipment.
Kneeling, standing, bending, and reaching during inspections and repairs.
Demonstrating good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Distinguishing colours when working with wiring, components, and technical systems.
