About the position
Role Overview
Our client, a leading supplier of specialised medical devices, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Medical Device Territory Manager to manage and grow sales within the East Rand territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strong relationships with healthcare professionals, hospitals, and healthcare institutions while promoting a portfolio of specialised medical device products.
This role requires a combination of sales expertise, clinical product knowledge, relationship management, and the ability to provide product demonstrations and support within clinical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
· Promote and sell specialised medical device products within the allocated territory.
· Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
· Identify and secure new business opportunities within hospitals, clinics, and healthcare facilities.
· Develop and execute territory sales plans to maximise market penetration.
· Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately forecast future sales opportunities.
Product Demonstrations & Clinical Support
· Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to healthcare professionals.
· Attend clinical procedures and provide product support where required.
· Educate customers on product features, benefits, and clinical applications.
· Respond to technical and product-related enquiries.
· Ensure customers are fully trained on product usage and best practices.
Relationship Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with:
o Surgeons
o Specialists
o Doctors
o Nurses
o Theatre staff
o Procurement departments
o Hospital management
· Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing ongoing support and product expertise.
· Collaborate closely with internal teams including Operations, Customer Service, Regulatory Affairs, and Product Specialists.
Market Analysis & Reporting
· Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer requirements.
· Attend industry conferences, workshops, and healthcare events.
· Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity on the CRM system.
· Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports.
· Track territory performance against sales objectives.
Compliance & Administration
· Ensure all activities comply with SAHPRA regulations, company policies, and ethical sales standards.
· Maintain accurate records relating to:
o Customer visits
o Product demonstrations
o Clinical cases
o Stock management
o Mileage logs
o CRM updates
· Ensure all administrative duties are completed accurately and timeously.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Achievement of sales revenue and profit targets.
· Growth in customer base and territory market share.
· Number and quality of customer engagements.
· Product demonstration and case support activities.
· Accuracy of sales forecasts and CRM reporting.
· Customer retention and satisfaction.
· Compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
RequirementsExperience
· Minimum 3–4 years' experience in a Medical Device Sales Representative or Territory Manager role.
· Proven track record of achieving sales targets within the healthcare or medical devices sector.
· Experience selling specialised medical devices, surgical products, orthopaedic products, diagnostics, or related healthcare solutions.
· Experience working with hospitals, specialists, surgeons, and procurement departments.
Essential Requirements
· Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
· Willingness to travel extensively within the East Rand territory.
· Strong understanding of healthcare environments and hospital procedures.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
· Clear criminal and credit record.
