South Africa’s leading digital décor portal, connecting industry professionals, suppliers and consumers within the décor and design sector is looking for a Media Sales Executive to join their team in Cape Town, WC.
Following significant growth and the reintroduction of print advertising into its packages, the client is seeking an energetic, commercially driven Media Sales Executive to grow advertising revenue across its digital and print platforms.
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, developing existing client relationships and selling advertising solutions across digital media, print publications, social media campaigns, newsletters and industry events.
This role is suited to an experienced sales professional with relevant industry exposure, a strong understanding of digital marketing and the ability to consistently meet and exceed sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Drive new business development and generate advertising sales revenue.
- Sell advertising packages across digital platforms and print publications.
- Promote supplier profile pages, banner advertising, social media campaigns and newsletter features.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct client meetings primarily via Zoom, with occasional face-to-face meetings.
- Present advertising solutions, negotiate commercial agreements and close sales at decision-maker level.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell advertising packages to existing clients.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets and maximise commission earnings.
- Use digital marketing knowledge and reporting insights to communicate the value and performance of advertising campaigns.
- Participate in leading décor and design exhibitions and industry events throughout the year.
- Travel to major centres across South Africa as required.
- Manage the sales pipeline, follow up on leads and maintain accurate client and sales records.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years’ sales experience in a relevant media, advertising or similar environment.
- Relevant industry experience is essential, with exposure to décor media, design, advertising or event sales in a digital environment highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business, build client relationships and close sales.
- Experience selling advertising space, digital media solutions, marketing packages or related services.
- Understanding of digital marketing principles and online advertising.
- Basic understanding of website architecture, including front-end and back-end functionality.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics and digital performance reporting.
- Strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills across telephone, online and face-to-face channels.
- A proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines and achieve sales targets.
