About the position

Short Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to carry out routine and preventative maintenance of all allocated plant and equipment, machinery, and facilities under your responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance
  • Assist to maintain plant equipment.
  • Assist with plant maintenance during shutdowns period.
  • Assist with the installation of new machines and equipment.
  • Assist in responding to emergency machine breakdowns throughout the plant.
• Inspections
  • Conduct regular inspections on plant equipment.
  • Focus on the completion of the work order.
• Team Work
  • Assists Artisans with duties as and when necessary.
  • Adhere to safe working practices according to Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Ensure the Artisan, Maintenance Manager and any relevant person is kept up to date.

Key Competencies:

Education and Skills

• Minimum of a Grade 12 and/ or NQF Level 4
• English and Mathematics are a requirement
• No work experience is required
• Must be able to comply with the program and pass set modules
• Must be able to drive own achievement of performance goals
• Must be able to work shifts and be able to fulfil standby duties

Interpersonal Skills

• Computer literate
• Technical and learning mindset
• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Completion of Knowledge Modules and Practical Modules
• Completion of Work-Place Modules are conducted on-site
