About the position
An established engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support assembly, installation and maintenance of large industrial machinery in mining environments.
Requirements
- Must have mechanical trade test
- Minimum 3 years experience on large industrial machinery
- Mining or quarry environment experience
- Exposure to crushing or similar heavy equipment
- Knowledge of lubrication systems, bearings and gearboxes
- Rigging, welding and gas cutting skills
The Role
- Assemble and install large mechanical equipment on site
- Perform inspections, testing and fault finding
- Carry out repairs and component replacements including shafts, bearings and gearboxes
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements
- Work safely with heavy tools in demanding site conditions
- Support and guide assistants and site personnel
