About the position

Responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or N4 Technical Qualification (Mechanical preferred)
  • Recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter
  • 5 years post-trade experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Solid mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical schematics

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components and systems
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and unplanned repairs on machinery
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
  • Inspect and test equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability
  • Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately and timeously
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
