About the position
Responsible for the mechanical assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or N4 Technical Qualification (Mechanical preferred)
- Recognised Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter
- 5 years post-trade experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Solid mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working with conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical schematics
Key Performance Areas:
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components and systems
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and unplanned repairs on machinery
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise production downtime
- Inspect and test equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability
- Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately and timeously
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
