About the position
Key Responsibilities
- Design drawings, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables while working with other disciplines within the project team.
- Prepare heat-loads and design calculations in accordance with SANS, EN, ASHRAE and other design codes.
- Assist & Support Senior Project Leaders.
- Manage a small team, including draughtingstaff.
- Participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions.
- Manage projects from inception to completion stages.
- Work independently.
- Attend meetings with clients & other professionals. Key Requirements
- Must have B.Eng/ B. Tech Eng in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in the Building Services industry
- Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer / Technologist or eligible to register
- Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing skills
- Technical understanding of Revit
- Strong teamwork skills required
- Must be willing to travel
- Strong project management skills and experience in: o HVAC installation, especially chilled water o Wet Services & Fire will be an added advantage o Technical Report Writing o Understanding of the different construction contracts o Preparing cost estimates and fee proposals o Compilation of Tender Documentation, including specification and Bill of Quantities o Site meetings, performing commissioning and dealing with contractual related matters o Liaising with Clients, Utilities, Other Engineering Disciplines & Stakeholders
