The Role: Mechanical Engineer
This role is designed for a skilled mechanical engineer with a strong background in mining projects-specifically in PGM, chrome, or base metals concentrator and smelter environments.
You will be involved in managing and executing multidisciplinary engineering packages from concept through to construction support, working within an experienced EPCM delivery team. The role is based at the Johannesburg head office, with immediate start preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply 5-10 years of mechanical engineering experience on mining EPCM projects
• Review and approve detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings
• Liaise with internal and external engineering teams across all project phases
• Ensure mechanical packages meet technical, budgetary, and timeline objectives
• Lead or support equipment selection, procurement specs, and vendor evaluations
• Provide on-site and office-based technical support as required
• Coordinate with clients, OEMs, and other stakeholders to ensure project continuity
• Maintain strict compliance with quality and safety standards

About You

• B.Eng or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering (BTech may be considered)
• 5-10 years experience in mining EPCM environments (PGM, chrome, base metals preferred)
• Strong exposure to concentrator or platinum smelter projects
• Experience with EPCM firms such as DRA, Worley, TWP, Hatch, Wood, etc.
• Anglo American or Anglo Platinum project experience preferred
• ECSA registration preferred (not essential)
• English first language preferred
• Able to start immediately or within short notice
• Based in or able to commute to Weltevredenpark, Johannesburg
