About the position
We are seeking a qualified and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a manufacturing environment. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical systems and processes to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective production. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing machinery, improving production workflows, and driving continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize mechanical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Conduct root cause analyses on mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure mechanical systems meet safety regulations and engineering standards.
- Prepare technical documentation including CAD drawings, process flow diagrams, and maintenance plans.
- Manage small to medium-sized engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Support predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors regarding equipment procurement and services.
Qualifications and Technical Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical) or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), AutoCAD.
- Strong blueprint interpretation and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of SHEQ compliance and best practices.
