Calling all Mechanical Engineers!
We're partnering with a well-established and fast-growing consulting engineering company based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs) that is actively seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee projects from inception to completion within a vibrant multidisciplinary environment.
Requirements:
- BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years' experience in the Building Services Industry.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech), or you must be a Candidate Mechanical Engineer in a position to qualify soon.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience are essential.
- Strong understanding of South African building codes & standards (SANS Codes).
- Proficiency in chilled water, wet services, drainage, DX, VRV/VRF, DTS fire designs, passenger lift installations, and medical/lab gas designs.
- Experience in FMCG, Pharmaceutical, and laboratory applications is advantageous.
- Must be willing to travel for site supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Overseeing mechanical building services projects through all stages: conceptualization, design, implementation, and closure, ensuring compliance with South African codes and regulations.
- Technical Design & Analysis: Conducting client needs analysis, site assessments/surveys, producing heat load and hydraulic calculations for water reticulations, and compiling engineering design reports.
- Documentation & Procurement: Preparing detailed specifications, Bills of Quantities, budget estimates, Scope of Works, tender and procurement documentation, and technical specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Performing peer reviews of reports and drawings (ISO 9001 requirement).
- Site & Client Engagement: Providing construction monitoring and supervision, attending internal and external meetings and site inspections, and working directly with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision.
- Project Management: Ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, and assisting with project and team administrative duties.
