Mechanical Engineer (6-Month Contract) (JHB ONLY)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

THE technical expertise of a Mechanical Engineer is sought to fill a 6-Month Contract role by a company dedicated to understanding, supporting, and empowering small business owners and entrepreneurs in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and allied industries. You will be managing a project and oversee project execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to technical specifications. The ideal candidate must be in possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven work experience in Project Management within a Mechanical Engineering context & proficiency in relevant Engineering software/tools including CAD and SOLIDWORKS.

DUTIES:

• Manage all phases of the project, from planning to completion.
• Ensure compliance with Engineering standards and project requirements.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress, budget, and timelines.
• Prepare and present progress reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications -

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).

Experience/Skills -

• Proven experience in Project Management within a Mechanical Engineering context.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in relevant Engineering software/tools (e.g., CAD, SOLIDWORKS).
• Languages: Fluency in English and Afrikaans (Mandatory).

Highly Desirable –

• Professional Registration: PrEng Certification.
