About the position
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, assemblies and systems
- Produce and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts
- Develop hydraulic schematics and hose routing diagrams
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards (SABS, ISO, IEC and company standards)
- Support the integration of mechanical and electrical systems across machines
Design Control & Documentation
You will:
- Maintain accurate and structured project files and documentation
- Ensure correct version control, numbering and drawing standards are applied
- Record and document all design-related communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Distribute meeting minutes and technical updates within required timeframes
- Support the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
Design Changes & Continuous Improvement
You will:
- Implement design changes, modifications and improvements efficiently
- Communicate all design updates clearly to relevant departments, suppliers and stakeholders
- Support ongoing product development and optimisation initiatives
- Identify opportunities for new product or application improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration
You will:
- Work closely with engineering, production, sales and buying teams
- Support coordination between mechanical layouts, electrical systems and control components
- Assist internal stakeholders with technical drawing and design requirements
- Contribute to project planning and timelines where required
Product & Technical Understanding
You will:
- Develop a strong understanding of Pilot Crushtec products and their operation
- Build knowledge of machine electrical systems including sensors, actuators and control panels
- Support solution development through accurate and practical design outputs
Governance, Standards & Compliance
You will:
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable standards including CE and OHS requirements
- Adhere to Pilot Crushtec design office procedures and documentation protocols
- Maintain accuracy, quality and consistency across all design outputs
- Follow all company policies, processes and procedures
Desired Skills:
- 5-8 years' experience in CAD and technical drawing environments -
- Strong experience with 2D and 3D CAD software -
- Experience producing electrical schematics
- wiring diagrams and panel layouts -
- Understanding of mechanical
- hydraulic and electrical systems integration -
- Exposure to manufacturing
- assembly or industrial environments -
- Knowledge of safety and compliance standards (CE
- OHS Act) Experience with Creo Parametric and Capital X Panel Designer would be advantageous.
