About the position
Lead the mechanical design behind innovative mineral processing equipment in a growing engineering division. Is this you? What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Where you'll be doing it What you'll need What you'll get How to apply We appreciate that your CV might not be fully up to date. No problem just send us what you have. We do respond to everyone! Just give us a few days to work through your application.
You're a proactive and technically-minded mechanical designer who thrives on variety, complexity, and the freedom to take ownership. You combine hands-on design experience with excellent project coordination, and you're ready to lead from day one. You enjoy working independently but know how to collaborate effectively and set the tone for future team growth.
You'll be the go-to person for mechanical design in this division - designing specialized machinery and systems from concept to production. You'll use SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD to create detailed models and drawings, conduct design reviews, and refine your work through feedback and testing. You'll liaise with suppliers, apply industry standards, and support prototyping, all while helping establish best practices. You'll also play a key role in planning and building the design team over the coming year.
You'll join a forward-thinking engineering solutions company with a strong track record in the mineral processing sector. Known for their technical expertise and turnkey delivery, they're rapidly expanding a dedicated division focused on designing and delivering custom equipment. The environment is innovative, supportive, and ambitious - ideal for engineers who want to make a visible impact and grow with the business.
A BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering is preferred, though a BTech with relevant experience will be considered. You'll need at least 3 years' design engineering experience and proficiency in CAD tools. You should have solid knowledge of mechanical design principles, GD&T, manufacturing processes, and the ability to handle multiple projects. Experience with FEA tools, ERP/PDM systems, and exposure to mineral processing or similar industries will be a plus.
A competitive salary, the opportunity to establish and grow a design team, and a role where your input truly matters - with projects that offer both complexity and purpose.
