What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) You'll be at the forefront of mechanical design, developing and optimizing machinery for processing plants. You'll create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and bills of materials while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Your role includes performing calculations, FEA simulations, and troubleshooting design challenges to ensure functionality and manufacturability. You'll stay ahead of industry trends, participate in design reviews, and support fabrication, assembly, and commissioning phases, making each project a fulfilling achievement. Where you'll be doing it Based in Centurion (West), you will be working full time in office, on a massive 5-year project secured with an international company planning on delivering over 100 processing plants globally. What you'll need You'll need a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with at least 8 years of experience in mechanical design. Expertise in designing machinery such as mineral processing equipment, processing systems, or bespoke automated machinery is key. Proficiency in 3D CAD software like SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor and simulation tools is essential. You should have a strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, as well as industry standards. Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities will set you apart.
