About the position
Southern Wind Ship Yard is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical / Composites Engineer with 5 - 10 years experience. The successfull candidate will play a key role in the Drawing Office working on composite design and engineering and deck hardware and deck outfitting design. Scope of work will include structural layout of the boat and composites engineering. The successfull candidate will be working with the Drawing Office team of specialists who are responsible to deliver drawings for production to the required standard and produciton deadlines.
Desired Skills:
- Practical Sailing experience
- SolidWorks 3D CAD (or similar)
- AutoCAD 2D (or similar)
- MS Office
- Methodical
- Dependable
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good technical skills and knowledge
- Fluency in English
- Good perception of 3D space
- Good communication skills.
- South African Citizen prefered
