About the position
THE CLIENT
One of the leading Animal Health multinationals with a broad portfolio of products. Seeking a candidate who has BVSc or related science degree (marketing qualification is an advantage), plus at least 5 years’ marketing or sales experience preferably in the same or similar Animal Health Portfolio (Antibiotics in Dairy).
The Marketing Manager for the Ruminant portfolio – Antibiotics & Dairy Portfolio, will be responsible for defining strategy, planning, forecasting, product development, and ultimately be accountable for revenue growth and profitability for the various brands within the portfolio in alignment with the overall corporate objectives.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Portfolio management to maximize revenue and margin.
- Develop strategic marketing and business plans for the assigned product portfolio, including market and competitive analysis, brand positioning, pricing and development of a communication plan focused on both external and internal customers.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Participate in short-term and long-term financial planning, development of sales and operating budgets, management of and operating within approved financial parameters to enhance profitability; Operating plan preparation for assigned products.
- Responsible to manage the A & P budget for assigned products.
- Provide timely marketing materials and programs to the sales force and all channel partners in support of demand creation efforts.
- Develop a strong knowledge of competitive landscape and customer insights including managing all competitive intelligence.
- Establish and build strategic partnerships and relationships
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
- Relevant Commercial qualification, BVSc, or equivalent Science Degree
- A marketing qualification will be an advantage.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a sales or marketing role within the animal health / pharmaceutical industry

- Ability to drive and travel locally and internationally if required.
- May be requested to work extended hours and weekends for special events and/or training
