The Role: Marketing Executive
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Marketing Executive to join the team remotely in Cape Town, working UK business hours. Your primary responsibility will be executing marketing strategies across social media, advertising, content planning, and event promotion to drive engagement, ticket sales, and sponsorship opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow social media presence across Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Create and execute 12-month event marketing strategies and detailed 4-month content plans for flagship events.
- Design engaging graphics and craft compelling copy for scheduled posts using tools like Buffer.
- Actively monitor and respond to social media interactions within 24 hours on weekdays.
- Track and analyze social media metrics, using UTM parameters and analytics tools to optimize campaigns.
- Plan, execute, and optimize paid advertising campaigns across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Google Ads.
- Research new promotional avenues such as blogs, podcasts, and influencer partnerships.
- Support sales and sponsorship teams by identifying potential sponsors and maintaining a CRM database.
- Collaborate with the design team to maintain and update brand guidelines on platforms like Figma or Canva.
- Report on success measures including engagement growth, event ticket sales, sponsorship revenue, and advertising ROI.
About You
- 2+ years of proven experience in digital marketing, event marketing, or social media management.
- Proficiency with content creation tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite, and social media scheduling platforms like Buffer.
- Strong copywriting skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
- Experience managing paid advertising campaigns across major platforms.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and lead generation processes.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to report on marketing KPIs and adjust strategies based on performance.
- Up-to-date knowledge of digital marketing trends and best practices.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in tech, developer-focused marketing, or events and sponsorships would be a distinct advantage.
