About the position
Job Purpose:
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for driving the marketing strategy and execution for assigned vendor brands within the company distribution business. This role ensures alignment between vendor objectives and the company go-to- market strategy, supporting reseller partners and driving product awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth. The role involves multi-region marketing execution, stakeholder engagement, event planning, budget management, and performance tracking.
Key responsibilities and duties
Vendor relationship management
- Act as the central marketing liaison between the organization and assigned vendors.
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with vendor marketing and product teams.
- Ensure adherence to vendor branding and marketing compliance.
Marketing strategy, planning & execution
- Develop and implement data-driven marketing plans in collaboration with sales and vendor teams.
- Align marketing activities with vendor goals to secure co-marketing funds.
- Manage the execution of marketing campaigns through regional agencies.
Demand generation & lead management
- Execute integrated campaigns using paid media, social, email, webinars, and events.
- Track and report campaign results, measuring effectiveness and ROI.
- Collaborate with sales to nurture leads and drive conversions.
Channel marketing & enablement
- Support resellers with training, co-branded materials, and localized campaigns.
- Create enablement content such as case studies, presentations, and guides.
Event management
- Plan and deliver regional and virtual events including logistics, branding, and vendor coordination.
- Create event assets and manage post-event performance analysis.
Budget management & financial reconciliation
- Manage vendor marketing budgets, ensuring optimal fund utilization.
- Submit internal payment requests and manage post-activity invoice claims.
- Collaborate with finance for reconciliations and compliance with vendor funding policies.
Compliance & procurement
- Ensure all marketing activities meet internal and vendor compliance standards.
- Oversee supplier onboarding and procurement processes.
- Maintain productive supplier relationships.
Reporting & performance analysis
- Report on campaign ROI and marketing KPIs.
- Contribute to quarterly business reviews and internal performance updates.
Project & stakeholder management
- Manage end-to-end project delivery using tools like [URL Removed] or Smartsheet.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure execution excellence.
Requirements
Education required
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
Experience needed
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in IT distribution, vendor marketing, or channel marketing
- Experience managing vendor relationships and co-marketing funds is highly desirable
- Familiarity with the Sub-Saharan Africa market will be an advantage
- Proven track record in campaign execution, event planning, and lead generation
