Know your way around an engine and a parts counter? Turn that technical know-how into solutions that keep vessels moving. Is this you? You're technically minded, organised and genuinely enjoy helping customers solve problems. Accuracy matters, whether you're identifying a component, interpreting a schematic or processing an order. Friendly and confident with walk-in customers, you're equally comfortable supporting Technicians and keeping stock and administration under control. Where you'll be doing it Based in Paarden Eiland, you'll join an established marine services business with decades of industry experience. It's a hands-on, technical environment supporting the commercial and recreational marine sectors, where specialist knowledge, responsive service and practical problem-solving are central to the operation. What you'll need A Matric or equivalent plus minimum 2 years experience in parts sales, automotive counter sales or marine retail is required. Sound marine engine knowledge and boat mechanics knowledge would be an atvantage, a valid driver's licence and strong administration skills is compulsory. Experience with electronic catalogues, Microsoft Office and Sage/Pastel is advantageous, alongside basic logistics and Incoterms knowledge. Forklift certification, or willingness to undergo training, is also required. What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it)
At the heart of the parts counter, you'll identify and source marine engine components for walk-in customers, commercial boaters and Technicians. Expect to use electronic parts catalogues, interpret technical drawings, prepare quotations and advise on inboard, outboard and sterndrive systems. You'll also process sales, manage special orders and backorders, receive stock, assist with inventory counts and coordinate local and international dispatches. You'll enjoy seeing your technical knowledge translate into accurate solutions and great customer service.
