About the position
Our Client seeks a Manufacturing Manager responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their production plant specializing in adhesive manufacturing. The role covers production planning, quality control, maintenance, health and safety, and continuous improvement.
The manager leads the production team, ensures compliance with ISO 9001, manages budgets, and supports capital projects.
Reports to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
- People Leadership: Recruit, train, motivate, and develop staff; manage union relationships; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Production Planning and Execution: Oversee daily operations, ensure quality standards, develop production schedules, and collaborate with supply chain partners
- Maintenance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure timely maintenance, drive cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives, maintain safety and housekeeping standards, and support ongoing process monitoring
- Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance: Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
- Quality Control: Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and maintain high product quality
- Communicates with production staff, supervisors, and other company stakeholders
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Proven track record in budgeting, cost management, and continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
- Strong computer, analytical, planning, and communication skills
- Experience with safety management systems and unionized environments
- The role requires flexibility in working hours and may evolve with business needs
