About the position
We are seeking Manufacturing Engineering Technicians (METs) to join a leading global medical device manufacturer in IRELAND. This is a high-volume production environment requiring hands-on mechanical maintenance expertise.
METs are the technical experts who keep production lines running, troubleshoot equipment failures, and support Process Technicians on the floor. You will be responsible for maintaining automation equipment to maximise quality, output, and yield in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- NFQ Level 6 or higher in: Mechanical, Electrical, Automation / Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering
- OR Qualified Trade (Millwright, Fitter & Turner, Electrician, or similar) with relevant industrial experience
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience post qualification/trade – non-negotiable
- Experience in High Volume Manufacturing
- Experience in a Regulated Manufacturing Environment (pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage, or similar)
- Strong understanding of PLCs, Robotics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Vision Systems
- Experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) or automated assembly lines
- Clean-room experience is highly valued
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain production equipment to maximise Quality, Output, and Yield in a High-Volume Manufacturing Environment, adhering to cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines
- Apply root cause analysis and systematic problem-solving to troubleshoot production line issues
- Execute preventative maintenance activities
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to manage operational issues
- Complete documentation in accordance with GDP (Good Documentation Practice) guidelines
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects to drive process improvements
- Assist with commissioning of new production equipment
- Maintain appropriate stock of spare parts
- Cross-train new Manufacturing Technicians as required
- Flexibility to travel for equipment assessments, site visits, and trainin
