About the position
Are you ready to lead the future of biosafety and biosecurity in South Africa?
Join our company and take charge of overseeing the operation, maintenance, certification, and development of high and maximum containment (BSL3 & BSL4) laboratories that protect public health locally and globally.
What You'll Do:
- Lead biosafety and biosecurity strategy for high containment facilities
- Manage design, maintenance, and certification of BSL3 & BSL4 labs
- Drive engineering support for outbreak response & mobile labs
- Develop sustainable engineering and safety practices
- Advise senior management on biocontainment operations
- Oversee capital and operational budgets
What You Need:
? Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (NQF 7)
? Recognised biosafety & biosecurity training/certification
? 7+ years post-qualification experience (5 in management of biocontainment labs)
? Knowledge of HVAC, BSL3/BSL4 operations, facility commissioning, OSHA & international biosafety standards
? Strategic planning & strong leadership skills
? Proficiency in CMMS, CAD, BMS & MS Office
? Willingness to travel nationally & internationally
