Exciting Opportunity - Position: Manager: Sustainability Risk Management & Reporting
Location: Centurion, Pretoria
Type: Permanent
Division: Strategy & Stakeholder Relations (SMCP Research & Intelligence Unit)

The Opportunity
Our client, a state-owned development finance institution, has an exciting opportunity for a Manager: Sustainability Risk Management & Reporting to lead the institution's sustainability and ESG reporting, climate risk transparency, and carbon accounting initiatives.

What You Will Be Doing.

  • Drive ESG, SDG, and sustainability reporting and assurance-readiness.
  • Oversee GHG emissions tracking (Scope 1-3) and develop a carbon accounting framework.
  • Support compliance with global frameworks (GRI, TCFD, ISSB, SDGs, PRB, etc.).
  • Identify and manage sustainability risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to ESG-aligned credit and investment processes.
  • Provide sustainability insights to inform strategic decision-making.

What You Must Have.

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Risk, or Business Management.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in sustainability/ESG reporting, risk management, or assurance.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks (GRI, TCFD, ISSB, SDGs).
  • Proven analytical, quantitative, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Financial services sector exposure will be an advantage.
