Manager: Sustainability Funding

About the position

Our client, a specialist financial institution driving sustainable growth and funding innovation across the agricultural value chain, is seeking a Manager: Sustainability Funding to join their Treasury team.

 

This role plays a key part in managing liquidity, funding operations, and investor relationships — ensuring that the institution remains financially robust while supporting long-term socio-economic development.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily liquidity and funding activities, ensuring sufficient cash flow and optimal returns on surplus funds.
  
  
• Monitor and analyse market trends, money market movements, and volatility to inform funding strategies.
  
  
• Raise funding through private and listed bond placements, repos, and short-term instruments.
  
  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, funders, arrangers, and regulators.
  
  
• Compile and present reports to Treasury committees and ensure compliance with internal and external governance requirements.
  
  
• Support the development of new funding instruments aligned to sustainability objectives.
  
  

 

Requirements

• BCom Degree or equivalent qualification (Finance, Economics, or Investments).
  
  
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Treasury Front Office environment, including funding and investment of surplus funds.
  
  
• Proven knowledge of money and capital markets, funding instruments, and liquidity management.
  
  
• Proficiency in Reuters Trading Platform, JSE Nutron Booking System, and MS Office.
  
  
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills.
  
  
• Registered Persons Exam advantageous.
