About the position

We are looking for a dynamic Manager: Grower Programmes to design and implement innovative grower and farmer development programmes that go beyond traditional financing. The successful candidate will work closely with industry partners, off-takers, agri-suppliers, and internal stakeholders to create impactful programmes that enable farmers to thrive commercially and sustainably.

Key Responsibilities:

Grower Programme Development & Implementation:

  • Design and implement grower programmes across priority commodities.
  • Build strategic partnerships with off-takers, agri-suppliers, aggregators, and large-scale farmers to strengthen value chain participation.
  • Facilitate programme models that improve market access and commercial viability for developing farmers.
  • Leverage industry networks and partner expertise to support farmer success.

Farmer Development Programme Design:

  • Drive the development of structured farmer development initiatives and support programmes.
  • Collaborate with investment teams to integrate grower support into pre- and post-investment support plans.
  • Develop tailored support models for development farmers and aggregators.

Pre- and Post-Investment Support:

  • Assist in designing and implementing support initiatives for funded farmers.
  • Conduct needs analyses and integrate grower programme support to improve farmer performance and sustainability.

Stakeholder & Ecosystem Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key role players in the agricultural ecosystem.
  • Engage with government departments, development finance institutions, sponsor funders, and intermediaries.
  • Represent the organisation at industry engagements, networking events, and partnership initiatives.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Work cross-functionally to develop integrated grower programme strategies.
  • Partner with technical and risk teams to incorporate sound agricultural and financial practices into programme design.
  • Support the scaling and implementation of grower programmes through collaborative initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Commerce, Agriculture, or Science
  • 7 years' specialist experience in agronomy, grower support, or farmer development
  • 3 years' management experience

Desired Skills:

  • Grower programme strategy and implementation

  • Farmer Development

Desired Work Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years
