About the position

A challenging vacancy exists for a Manager: Electrical and Refrigeration in the Technical Services Department within Kruger National Park. The incumbent's responsibilities will include amongst others the following:

Key performance areas

  • Efficient management of Electrical, Refrigeration, Radio Communication Corporate sections and their infrastructure.
  • Management and Supervision of Maintenance teams in line with KPI as agreed.
  • Provide relevant technical advice and support services.
  • Review MV and LV Electrical systems and network designs to applicable standards.
  • Ensure and enforce full compliance of Electrical, Refrigeration and Radio communication standards.
  • Implement, Manage Projects, variety of Contracts and Contractors.
  • Perform various administrative task that include Budgets, budget controls, technical and performance reports, record keeping.
  • Lead in promoting and maintaining Healthy and Safe working environmental.
  • Ensuring performance of work is in accordance to SOP/SWP, best practices.
  • Ensure full compliance with OHS Act and all other relevant legislations.
  • Development, Reviewing and maintenance of relevant Policies, Standard Operating/ Working Procedures (SOP/SWP) and Code of Practices.

Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering degree (BSc/B-Tech) with 2yrs post degree maintenance work experience OR,
  • National Diploma Electrical Engineering (S4, T3) - Heavy current, with 4 years post diploma maintenance work experience, one of which include supervisory experience.
  • Experience in HT/MV reticulation, Generators and Photovoltaic (PV) Solar systems.
  • Understanding of Radio Communication Network operation and Infrastructure would be an added advantage.
  • Skills and Experience in Project management.
  • Good with financial management and budgeting.
  • Sound Knowledge of OHS ACT and Safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Trade Test and or 3 phase Wireman's licence would be an added advantage.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
