About the position

A leading financial institution is seeking a Manager: Credit Risk Monitoring to drive the implementation of their Credit Risk Management Framework. Ensure policies, governance, and reporting meet industry standards while overseeing credit committee activities and addressing non-compliance risks with effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Maintain and enhance credit risk policies, governance charters, and risk frameworks aligned with best practices, IFRS 9, and Basel principles.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Track and report on credit performance, facility renewals, covenant breaches, and high-risk exposures. Recommend corrective actions where needed.
  • Committee Oversight: Attend credit committees, ensure adherence to policies and charters, and flag risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly dashboards and quarterly portfolio performance reports for executive and board-level review.
  • Credit Review & Hindsight: Develop and execute review plans to assess loan approval processes and credit adherence. Provide advice and report findings with improvement suggestions.
  • Research: Conduct proactive and request-based research on credit trends, practices, and risk modelling to enhance credit risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk, or similar field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Credit Risk (advantageous)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in credit risk management
