WORK ENVIRONMENT:
To coordinate and manage, at a national level, the functions of the Burial Grounds & Graves Unit in consultation with the Executive and Senior Manager, HRM teams and other internal and external stakeholders in as far it relates to the implementation of the National Heritage Resources Act, No 25 of 1999 towards identification, conservation protection, and promotion of burial grounds and graves of heritage significance.

- Heritage Resources Management
- Knowledge and application of heritage legislation in South Africa
- Knowledge of environmental management legislations as it relates to heritage resources management processes
- Applied knowledge and experience in using the online content management systems like South African Heritage
- Resources Management System (SAHRIS) is essential.
Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical maps, journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Professional membership or affiliations in heritage conservation and related fields would be advantageous.
A valid Code EB (08) driver's licence.
Computer literacy with regard to the use of Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Teams and in a GIS package such as ArcGIS or QGIS. Experience in using SAHRIS is essential.
