This role leads the culture of safety and quality in aviation operations ensuring every flight, procedure, and decision meets SACAA and industry standards.
What you'll do
- Own and improve the Safety and Quality Management Systems (SMS & QMS) to
SACAA/Part 140 requirements.
- Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and investigations; mandate corrective actions and stop unsafe operations where needed.
- Oversee emergency readiness, incident reporting, and continuous
- Drive risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across flight, ground handling, and maintenance.
- Build internal capability through training and performance
- Engage with regulators, authorities, and key stakeholders
What you bring
And Bring all of the following
- 10+ years' aviation experience, including 5+ years in safety, quality, or compliance management.
- National Diploma/NQF 6+ in Safety Management or Quality Assurance or Quality Management
- Pilots license issued in terms of the Civil Aviation Act
- Have been employed by the South African Iar Force or similar organisation
- Sound knowledge of SACAA regulations, ISO 9001, auditing, and SMS
