About the position

SASA- Management Accounting Clerk



Our Client, the South African Sugar Association (SASA) has a vacancy for a Management Accounting Clerk, based at Mount Edgecombe.

Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, the Management Accounting Clerk is responsible for the following key deliverables:

• Assuming responsibility for specific SASA budgets, including the preparation, managing and periodic reporting on these budgets, in close consultation with the relevant internal and external stakeholders, departmental managers and/or divisional heads
• Providing financial advice and guidance to departmental managers regarding budget phasing and utilization
• Assuming responsibility for key financial and administration functions provided by the centralized team
• Preparation of monthly journals
• Preparation of monthly general ledger reconciliations

• has exceptional planning, organizing, organizational and self-management skills
• is a team player and comfortable with written and verbal communication and interaction with senior internal and external stakeholders
• has a strong preference for working in an environment with established standards, guidelines, policies and procedures
• pays close attention to detail and is thorough and meticulous and takes pride in the presentation of their deliverables

Essential for this role:

• National Diploma or Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Financial or Management Accounting
• A minimum of two years budget administration experience in a centralized financial environment of a medium to large organization, with a proven track and a thorough understanding of financial and cost management accounting practices and procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in Syspro or equivalent with an excel based reporting tool
