Management Accountant
At our Head Office in Cape Town
The Management Accountant will be primarily responsible for financial planning and analysis, management reporting, cost management and control, financial performance analysis, financial reporting, and compliance, as well as guiding and supporting internal stakeholders. The purpose of these duties is to ensure the effective management of financial resources, provide strategic insights to optimise profitability and operational efficiency, and facilitate informed decision-making at various levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Develop and maintain cutting-edge financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Analyse financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management based on insightful financial analysis.
• Prepare comprehensive management reports, including variance analysis and profitability reports, to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Present financial insights to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, driving actionable outcomes.
• Monitor and analyze costs across various business units to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with operational teams to implement cost control strategies and drive profitability.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance against targets and industry benchmarks, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statutory filings.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather data and drive financial initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial guidance and support as needed.

Basic requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, or CA(SA) advantageous.
• 5+ years of experience as a Management Accountant, preferably in distribution or retail.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and SAP or related ERP system.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Enjoy working in a small, dynamic team.
• Own reliable transport and valid driver's license.

Start Date: 1 June or 1 July 2024
Location: This position is office based and located at our Head Office in Epping, Cape Town
Remuneration: Remuneration according to skills and experience
