About the position
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance on building infrastructure and machinery, particularly ammonia refrigeration systems, to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations. The role also supports experienced technicians and includes administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily inspections of ammonia refrigeration systems: plantroom, condensers, and valve stations.
- Preventative maintenance tasks and support for senior technicians.
- Daily rack and temperature setting checks across markets.
- Operate lifting machinery when required.
- Maintain safety and compliance: HSE equipment, PPECB protocols, and cold chain practices.
- Administrative duties: filing, requesting quotes, ordering materials.
- Ensure that completion of job cards within the required timeframes.
- Completing purchase requisitions documents
- Assist Maintenance Manager fulfilling certain tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or higher.
- Ammonia Refrigeration Category A Certificate (or higher).
- 4+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- At least 2 years of experience in an ammonia refrigeration environment.
