Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician - Gauteng

Main job purpose

To maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to ensure that the plant (mechanical, electrical and processes) is functioning at optimal efficiency, with minimal downtime.

Main Objective

• To identify and fix breakdowns by troubleshooting faulty machinery and diagnosing the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problem-solving abilities.
• To implement preventative maintenance measures to determine reasons for breakdowns and to limit future breakdowns to ensure that production continues.
• To adhere to all Safety regulations to ensure full plant maintenance and asset management is achieved and plant safety ensured.
• To report all maintenance and repairs in order to analyse incidents reported and time spent in the plant.
• To continuous provide recommendations on Process improvements to all departments within the company to drive continuous improvement.
• To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

Grade 12

Certified Artisan Millwright

Knowledge

Preventative Maintenance

Safety and Quality standards

Working knowledge of pneumatics, robotics mechanics and electrics (hydraulics beneficial)

Able to follow a maintenance schedule

Experience

3 years' experience in a similar role

Exposure to CNC Programming / Technician

3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
