About the position
An exciting opportunity has become available within the energy industry for a Maintenance Planner in the asset management division. The position is based in Bellville, Cape Town. This role is for a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance planning or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of maintenance processes, techniques, and best practices
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other planning tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Certification in maintenance planning (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional - CMRP) is a plus
- Strong probing and analytical skills
- Critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in cross-cultural settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our facilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance schedules for all equipment and facilities
- Coordinate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to ensure timely and effective execution of maintenance activities
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and plan preventive maintenance
- Prepare detailed job plans including labor, materials, tools, and equipment required for maintenance tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in all maintenance activities
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment histories
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance efficiency and effectiveness
- Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget
- Continuously improve maintenance processes and systems to enhance reliability and minimize downtime
