Introduction

Role Purpose:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for driving world-class maintenance planning, asset reliability, and maintenance
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance planning and work control process for engineering activities across utilities, processing, and packaging equipment.
- Plan and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance activities in collaboration with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Foreman, and Production teams.
- Serve as CMMS (Shopware) System Administrator, ensuring accurate work order management, asset data integrity, and maintenance history tracking.
- Prioritise maintenance work based on equipment criticality, production impact, and safety requirements.
- Apply maintenance best practices and reliability-centred maintenance principles to improve equipment performance and plant availability.
- Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis to identify failure mechanisms and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment reliability and maintenance performance through CMMS data analytics and trend reporting.
- Continuously review and optimise preventative maintenance programmes based on reliability trends and operational requirements.
- Maintain and update the asset register, maintenance documentation, and equipment records in line with engineering standards.
- Support spare parts planning and critical spares management in collaboration engineering stores buyer.
- Prepare and present maintenance performance reports, including equipment availability, downtime analysis, and maintenance cost trends.
- Ensure maintenance practices comply with engineering standards, OHS requirements, and FSSC 22000 food safety standards.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance planning within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing or FMCG.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of utilities systems (steam, refrigeration, compressed air, water), processing equipment, and packaging machinery.
- Proven experience with CMMS systems (preferably Shopware or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance, reliability engineering, and maintenance planning best practices.
- Experience conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and planning skills.
- Good understanding of food safety standards such as FSSC 22000.
